New Sermon Series! Ringing in the New Year... begins December 28, 2008 and continues for four weeks. When the new year comes around it always seems like a time for new beginnings. So often we cannot wait to say goodbye to the year and look forward to a better one. We make resolutions and never keep them. In the weeks ahead, we will take a look at how we can live more effectively, purposefully and confidently into the new year.
The adventure of living is a gift from God, the author and source of our lives. May God bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand now and always.
Yours in Christ’s Love, Rev. Claudia D. Raggie

We come... together in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving! We come... together to celebrate Holy Communion! We come... as a community desiring to know the love of God! We come... to share his love with those who do not know him! We come... just as we are! COME JOIN US! When God is involved we are never the same!
CHANGE IN OUR WORSHIP... because so many children are involved in our Sunday School program and our worship, we are having a difficult time settling down in worship and getting the children off to class in a timely fashion which limits their learning experience. The children now leave for SS class immediately following the Children’s Sermon WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER GATHERING THE PRAYERS AND BEFORE THE ENTRANCE HYMN (first hymn). Those parents that need to escort their children to class will have ample time to return to their seats and go deeper in the worship experience.
AS WE CELEBRATE
HOLY COMMUNION... we reflect on the awesomeness of God. It is
a time of spiritual renewal - a time to give thanks for the gift of His
Son Jesus Christ. It is a time to meditate, pray and reflect on our
spiritual journey. Enjoy this very special time in our worship
experience when you can talk with God and focus on him alone.
KNEELING AT HOLY COMMUNION TIME... we are encouraging you to take this step of faith. After receiving Holy Communion you have time to come before God by kneeling in prayer. Stay as long as you like. Kneel and listen to the words being sung all around you. Kneel and have your quiet, humble time before your God.
SINGING DURING
HOLY COMMUNION... this time in our worship experience is an
opportunity for us to raise our voices in praise of our Savior, Jesus
Christ. We use songs that are easy to learn and that seem to “stick with
us” as we leave on Sunday mornings. You may find yourself or your
children singing them throughout the day. That’s great! We call these
songs “heart songs” because they go from the mind, deep down into the
heart - committed to memory without really realizing it. Then, in
moments unexpected, the words and the melody ascend from the heart into
the mind and are placed on our lips. We hope this helps you in your
spiritual journey day by day with Jesus. SUNDAY SCHOOL... Sunday School classes are at the 9:00 a.m. worship service during the school year and start at age 3 and go through the 6th grade. If you have a child that needs special services, please let us know in order for us to accommodate them. For further information about Sunday School, please contact Jenn Hecker or Lauren Rogers or the Church Office at 588-9509.
REACH 21st Century Worship... is about reaching higher, deeper, wider in coming to know the God who gave his Son Jesus on the cross for us so that we might have life and have it abundantly. The band is energized for 21st Century worship and inspires us all to stand up and sing. There is multimedia being used and sometimes there is dancing in the aisles. Prayer is an important part of the experience and Holy Communion is celebrated too!

Stewardship Thought for this Week God owns everything and we are His managers. “Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” Deuteronomy 8:18
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness.’ ” Matthew 25:21.
