Fall
Fair and Yard Sale September 2008
- There was music, there was food, there were bargains by the bag full -
but most of all there was fun and fellowship at our latest Fall Fair /
Picnic / BBQ / Yard Sale / Car Wash Blow Out Fundraiser. Lots of people
having lots of good times - Hawkins Avenue was awash in shoppers, who
then got to sit at tables on the lawn and eat some free BBQ and fixin's
and listen to some great live music. Much thanks to all who spent the
day with us and, of course, all the help was most appreciated.
Confirmation
Car Wash September 2008
- We soaped! We scrubbed! We sprayed! We rinsed! And when we weren’t
doing that to each other, we did the same to all the dirty cars, vans,
trucks, etc. that the congregation brought us... all to raise funds
toward our December 08 trip to Pennsylvania to see Casting Crowns in
concert. Thanks to everyone - students, parents and Confirmation staff -
who pitched in to wash and dry!!!
Choir
BBQ August 2008
- We had a lot of fun, fellowship and, of course, good food at this
year’s Choir BBQ at Kenny’s - check out the pic of the cake! Thanks to
Lynn for the photos.
Memorial
Day May 2008
- A great day for a parade! This year, we not only provided iced tea and
Lifesavers to the marchers in the annual Ronkonkoma Memorial Day Parade,
Holy Cross and Noah’s Ark Preschool marched and passed out flower seed
packets to let the community know about our excellent school. “Plant the
seeds of learning today, and let Noah’s Ark Preschool lead the way!”
Much thanks to our Noah’s Ark participants and to everyone who helped at
the Outreach table - Marie Superior, Betty McGill, Bob Lewis, Luisa and
Robert Wu (and especially Katie and Nikki), Andrew Goodrich, Sandi
Bandows (and especially Jayden), Barbara Rizzo, Billy Quaresimo, Carol
Gorton, Lauren Rogers, John Raggie, Tom Moldovan and most especially
Barbara Drewes.
Family
Game Night May 2008 -
Another great FGN (Family Game Night) with plenty of prizes, a room full
of auction baskets, hot dogs / cup cakes / brownies galore, many, many
games of BINGO, horns and poppers and streamers announcing the wins
(plus lollipops and dollar bills - ask someone who was there!) and much
fun and fellowship in addition to raising $4,000 for our ministry. Oh,
and answered prayers regarding a head of hair - check out the pics and
see who, plus the smiles that winning Mallomars and a Snack Attack
basket can bring. Thanks to Val and Buck Barba, and all the volunteers,
Confirmation students, and kitchen staffers who made this successful.

Vacation
Bible Camp “Avalanche Ranch” July 2007 - Wahoo!!! We had a fun-filled
time as we learned about Jesus through this year’s Avalanche Ranch, a
wild ride through God’s Word. The stampede of excitement included
learning that God is Real, God is With Us, God is Strong, God is Awesome
and God is In Charge with our new Bible Buddies: Buc, Shadow, Ranger,
Skye and Boss! Wahoo!!! We got to sing along with some great songs at
our Sing and Play Stampede, learned Bible stories at our Wild Bible
Adventures, watched videos at Chadder’s Wild West Theater, ate some
yummy snacks at our Chuck Wagon Chow (yea - Whales!), made some awesome
crafts in our Cowpoke Crafts and Missions, played neat games in
Horseplay Games (Shark!), and finished up each day with our Showtime
Roundup.

the Fellowship Hall to prepare and deliver 51 delicious, hot meals to
homebound and needy members of our congregation and community in this
joint Outreach / Youth Ministries activity. Our youth were “Top Chefs”

meatloaf and gravy, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, rolls and
dessert. Yummy! We distributed, too, cans of soup from your generous
“Souper Bowl” donations. We also sorted, decorated, packed and stacked
120 Valentine Goody Cans with the help of our God Squad 567 members.
Check us out!!!
J.A.G.
and God Squad 567 Christmas / New Year’s Party - You
wouldn’t think smearing Vaseline on your face and picking up cotton
balls with it would be as entertaining as it was! Check out the pics of
our December 2006 Christmas / New Year’s party - DVD Trivial Pursuit
(which the team of Kate Georghiou and Tom Moldovan won, no matter what
any other team might say!), Bible Hangman, our usual fiercely
competitive Scattegories game (no Barb - wet pigs do NOT count as a farm
animal that begins with the letter W), Twister and making wrapping paper
mummies (Ashley Buttice, are you SURE you can breathe? Nod your head for
yes!). Plus a talking Santa in the hall and lots of yummy snacks. Thanks
to everyone who joined us, and to Barbara Maurer, Barbara Rizzo, Arlene
