The Celebrations Committee plans, coordinates and participates in many of the special events at Holy Cross. This ministry works to create occasions where we can gather in fun and fellowship, providing relaxation, family fun time and a good wholesome environment in which people - young and old - can grow great relationships - especially a relationship with Jesus. Our many volunteers purchase food and supplies, cook, decorate and host the festivities which welcome our congregation and their guests at these special times. Celebration Ministries Calendar
NOVEMBER 28th and 29th - Christmas Fair... Pencil in the date! HCLC is working on putting together a Christmas Fair to be held on November 28th and 29th at the Centereach Fire Department. Music! Prizes! Food! Raffles! Lots of fun!!! We will keep you posted as this develops - keep watching for more details as the planning takes shape. Want to help make this happen? Give your name and number to Barbara Drewes in the church office or see Sue Fantel, who is spearheading this project. We will need help for the entire two days - set up, clean up, flyer distribution, etc.

OUR LAWN SALE & BBQ ON SEPTEMBER 21st... was a huge success. Lots of fun, great music, free food and the community browsed and purchased at the lawn sale. Over $2,000 was raised. Thanks for all those who helped set up, clean up, cooked, and ran around making sure everything went well. Special thanks to Marilyn Moldovan and Arlene Tramazzo who organized the lawn sale. Awesome job, ladies!!! Thank your team of helpers for us too!!!
CONFIRMATION RECEPTION... Thank you to the Celebration Committee for a beautiful reception following the Confirmation of 20 of our Holy Cross teens.
ROCK ’N ROLL DINNER / DANCE... was a huge success. Lots of great food and fun music. Everyone was dancing and laughing. There were outstanding gift baskets that were raffled off, too! A BIG THANK YOU goes to our very own Mission From God Band and to Billy’s Kitchen Band for their music. Their time was donated. Thanks to the cooks, especially Elaine Kotarski, Donna Musterick and Pastor Raggie. For all who helped make this fun fund-raiser a huge success, we say many, many thanks to you all!
PENTECOST BBQ UPDATE... Caught up in the Fire of God’s Love is the only way to describe all of the volunteers who made the 2007 Pentecost Celebration a wonderful day. Heartfelt thanks to God Squad 567 for assembling the Sunday School Gift Packs; to Barbara Rizzo, Bob Lewis, Arlene Tramazzo and Barbara Drewes - the Sunday Morning helium crew; and to all who provided for a terrific 3rd Annual picnic. Special thanks to the many, many volunteers who set up, cooked and cleaned up, to those who acted as hosts and hostesses and to “Mission from God” for giving us the best Spirit filled music we could have had. Holy Cross is truly blessed by all of you.

WE HAVE MINISTRY NEEDS... You are always so generous when the call goes out that we thought we would try it again. Throughout the year we host activities which include food...church picnics, movie nights, special meetings, youth activities etc. We do not want to charge for the food (since we are a family) so we are asking for donations of soda, water, hot dogs, hamburgers and chips. Will you help us to maintain free activities whenever possible? These food items seem to be on sale frequently, so add them to your shopping list. Thanks for helping to make HCLC a very special place.
