and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make straight your paths.”

Cross.wmf (1830 bytes)Adult Christian Education - Holy Cross offers many opportunities for adult Christian education throughout the year. Bible studies, Christian reading groups, lifestyle workshops and other classes on being a Christian and a Lutheran in today’s world are periodically offered. We recently offered a course for adults based on the Lutheran Handbook - a guide for all things Lutheran: the essential principles of a Christian life, Lutheran theology and culture and the Lutheran way of living. Please watch for dates and times.

Our WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Church in America) ladies are currently exploring Max Lucado’s Bible Study series - “Discovering the Power of Prayer” during their monthly Evening Circle meetings.

Pastor Raggie is currently running a Bible Study during her Sunday morning sermons. Through her ministry, she offered a challenge to recommit to the journey of faith, because... “This is not practice. It’s not a drill. It’s not a rehearsal. This is the real deal. This is life. Live it well, live it with Jesus.” (We handed out a card with these words on it.) We talked about how to build a solid, healthy, well thought out life with meaning and purpose. We do this by building our lives on the solid rock of God.

We discussed the importance of building our life on the solid foundation of God. Our hope for a better life, a successful life (measured not by the world’s standards), is through Jesus. Is there hope for every person? The answer is yes as we build our lives on the solid foundation of being in an active, relationship with Jesus. Our lives are in Him.

We looked at the gift of Jesus Christ as we deal with the voices in the world around us pulling us away from God, into our own desires, dealing with the demons in our souls; those ugly parts of us that nobody knows about, those pains, regrets and shames that keep us chained. Jesus has released us, has set us free. Live with confidence.

We are now exploring the grace we have in Jesus Christ; it is not about what we do that we have a relationship with God, it is about what God has done in Jesus for us. Who am I that Jesus would care for me, set me free, want a relationship with me? God delights in us because of what he has done, who he is not because of what we have done.
