OUR
MISSION STATEMENT
“HELPING PEOPLE
TO KNOW AND
SHARE THE LOVE OF CHRIST,” is what helps us to express
our ministry here in the community. Very simply stated it
says that we are about helping anyone who desires to be on a
faith journey to come to know the amazing love, the grace of
God who is in the gift of Jesus Christ, who died on the
cross for all people and then share that gift, that
understanding, that joy, that message with others.
Get
it...
Got it....
Give it away!!!!

LOOKING
FOR
MEANING AND PURPOSE?
Aren’t we all? God
invites us to know him and his love and in so doing we will
find meaning and purpose in our living. According to Pastor
Rick Warren in his book, The Purpose Driven Life,
there are 5 purposes God has given us for our living: We are
created to bring pleasure, glory and honor to God. We are
created to live in the fellowship of God’s eternal family.
We are to grow in becoming more Christ like in our
character. We are called to serve others by using our
gifted-ness from God. We are created to introduce others to
Jesus Christ.
How can we do this? Glad you asked...
God provides us the church – HIS CHURCH – in which to live
out these 5 purposes. Look around, there is lots going on
and many ways for you to live out the 5 purposes for your
life and thereby honor God with who you are and what you are
about. Life will be rich and full, and loving and
purposeful. Come worship, come serve, come learn and come be
in fellowship with other believers.

November

It is once again time for
Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian

worldwide – filled to overflowing with gifts from generous
people like you to children in 95 countries. Using a simple
gift-filled shoebox and the Good News of God’s love,
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to
children in desperate situations around the world and
introduces them to the story of God’s greatest gift, Jesus
Christ. During distributions, children are offered colorful
storybooks that present the Good News of Christ in over 70
languages. Once again, our Sunday School children are
preparing these shoebox gifts to share and we invite the
congregation to join in. Please bring your filled shoeboxes
to church no later than Sunday morning, November 23rd.
We will be
collecting shoeboxes on Sunday, November 23rd during morning
Worship services.

FEBRUARY 25th, 2009 - HCLC Town Hall
Meeting...

HCLC Town
Hall Meeting
Wednesday,
February 25th
at 6:00 pm
Town Hall Meetings are being
provided by the Church Council several times a year, on
different days and at different times in order to better
engage the congregation in understanding, shaping and
participating in the ministries of the church. These are
general forums, for the open discussion of ideas, questions
and opinions. It is not specific to any committee or working
group. We are looking to achieve broad-based input from
across the congregation, wider consensus for the ministry
vision, and increased commitment and participation in the
various mission and ministry. OUR NEXT TOWN HALL MEETING IS
SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25th, at 6:00 pm. Come let us share
and grow together.
